Sedona

Into the Valley (2011)

For these two photographs, I was hoping to show nature as it is, and I was also hoping to show how beautiful and strong lions are. I was on a class trip to Sedona, Arizona, and I had a lot of fun. I liked how the lion was looking straight at my camera. This could symbolize the strength of a lion. Its stare is so bold and distinct. We ended up going to a nature persevere. It was really nice and the animals there were just so cool.

The Strength of a Stare (2011)
As for my other photo, I was hoping to show how big and beautiful nature is. The mountains in Sedona are just spectacular. The colors are almost fictional. It is as though, a painter added the different shades. This photography however, also shows the power of sunlight. Sunlight can be tricky. Here, the rocks on the mountains look like they are all different colors and shades. The truth is, it is really only one color on these rocks. The sunlight plays tricks and the shadowy areas make the rock appear darker in some areas than others.
