For this post, I want to share some photos I took when I saw the new and upcoming British band, Rixton. Before their successful song Me and My Broken Heart hit the radio waves, Rixton toured the U.S. Rixton is made up of Jake Roche (lead singer), Danny Wilkin (piano/bass), Charley Bagnall (Guitarist) and Lewi Morgan (drums). I saw them perform at Tempe Marketplace in the beginning of March. The radio station, Kiss fm 104.7, hosted the event and Rixton performed some songs and met the fans in attendance. The performance was scheduled to be outdoors but that day there was rain and the stage was flooded. Instead, the concert was held inside the Dave and Busters. The performance was acoustic and quite intimate. These guys are great musicians and have a wonderful pop sound. Due to its intimate setting, I had to photograph around the crowd and unfortunately could not get a photograph of Lewi. I did get to met him and the other guys though! I got selfies with Danny and Lewi and a group photo will all of them. When photographing the show, I wanted to capture the guys personalities. Charley is the mysterious one, very focused on playing music. Jake is the crazy, outgoing one. Danny is the sweet, musically driven one. Lewi is the one with the beat. All of them together though are very kind, talented and great performers. They sang originals and covers. Their first ever EP, Me And My Broken Heart EP, is officially out and sold in stores and on iTunes. The band will soon be on a headlining tour through the US and Europe starting in July.
