Let's Go (2016)
On a warm friday night on the Arizona State University Tempe campus, thousands of students are chanting Hunter. The crowd's energy builds and builds as each minute passes. What started as shouting Hunter from one group turns into a loud exhilarating thunderous cheer. A collective feeling of holding your breath spreads over the audience. Then the sound of an electric guitar swells followed by a danceable drum beats and the show begins. Fueled by crowds cheers and a pure passion for music, Hunter Hayes delivers an electric, thrilling, enjoyable show. As apart of ASU's annual Devilpalooza, Hunter Hayes performed fan favorites "Wanted," "Storm Warning," "21," "Invisible," and "I Want Crazy," and newer hits such as "Suitcase" and "Saint Or Sinner," as well as other songs. He finished the show coming out in an ASU shirt and delivered a twangy "Counting Stars" cover. He spend a good amount of time, interacting with fans wishing one happy birthday and taking some selfies as well as talking about his music. He was proud to call himself a "music nerd" which was followed with cheers and even mentioned he was sick. It was not noticeable that he was sick at all. Hunter is a true professional and it was clear to the audience how much he loved music. He played multiple instruments and had good jam sessions with his band. He brought a strong passion and cheerful energy that was hard to resist. He has an infectious charm and lovable personality that really elevates his music to a pure fun time. He described the crowd as a party and it sure was! Hayes even referred to the crowd as his new best friends and had a genuineness that showed how appreciative he is of others allowing him to live out his dream everyday. I fully enjoyed the show and am quite bummed it is over. I have to see him next time for sure! Hunter Hayes is a 5 time Grammy nominee Louisiana-born, country artist with 3 albums. He first released his self-titled album in 2011 then Storyline in 2014, and The 21 Project in 2015. He is a great performer and has a diverse sound. Make sure to check out The 21 Project, if you haven't already, and get ready for his 3rd studio album coming soon! Thank you ASU's PAB for setting up this event and Hunter Hayes for the great night!
